| What are Total Dissolved
Solids (TDS) Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) are solids in water that can pass
through a filter. TDS is a measure of the amount of material
dissolved in water. This material can include carbonate,
bicarbonate, chloride, sulphate, phosphate, nitrate, calcium,
magnesium, sodium, organic ions, and other ions. For more information on Total
Dissolved Solids (TDS), please visit our

technical area How Can TDS be
Measured? The method most commonly used for the analysis of TDS is the
measurement of specific conductivity with a conductivity probe that
detects the presence of ions in water. Conductivity measurements are
then converted to TDS values. The practical quantisation limit for
TDS in water by this method is 10 mg/L. High TDS concentrations can
also be measured gravimetrically, although this method excludes
volatile organics. The constituents of TDS can also be measured
individually. What products do R.M.S Ltd
offer for TDS Measurement?Portable Hand Held
